rbc's in the empire

Post by Admin on Sun Mar 22, 2015 3:18 pm

all robber baron castles (rbc's) have 1 layer of tools, this includes the king of the robber barons,
they also have various levels of standard wall protection,

on a spy report though, you will get the values and all you need to know,

this makes it easier to beat them with minimal losses,

i will explain the process in the following posts

this is a spy report for a level 10, 2 victory's to level 11

as you can see, it has ranged on the left, melee on the right,
it also has pesky tools, hurling rocks, these are +25% in wall defence

no wall advantage from the castellan

so we now know what we are up against,
next is the attack

i'm going to assume that the attacking commander has no bonus's,

so we know it has at least 25% wall protection on the flanks + whatever the standard wall is,

how do you find out what the standard wall protection is ?

go to the attack set up screen and hover your cursor over a flank, in this case the right flank,
you will see the value is 45% wall protection,
deduct 25 for the rocks and you are left with 20, which is the standard wall protection

so the best attack would be melee attackers on the left flank carrying 5 ladders,
ranged attackers on the right flank carrying 5 ladders,
mixed attackers down the gate carrying no tools

ladders reduce wall protection by 10% each

so, set off the attack and wait for the win,

with sending the extra men down to climb the gate the hopefully you will get a 30% attack bonus for beating all 3 sides,
this helps with defeating the defenders in the keep,

if only the flanks are attacked and beaten then neither the attacker or defender gets a bonus and there is an evens fight in the keep,

but, is there another way of defeating rbc's ?

the answer is yes,
tool cleaners, martyrs, whatever you want to call them, can be employed,
these kind chaps remove the tools from the defenders, meaning the attacker can use less tools in defeating them,

they can be defenders or attackers, cheap or expensive, their only job is to remove the tools and they will die doing this

right, not going to bore you with standard attack photos,

this is the martyr way,

send 1 man for each defended flank you are attacking, but only on the first wave,
this is the result after the attack

as you can see, both died but the job was done, tools were removed

the second wave was the full attack wave,

i sent the right amount of tools for the standard wall protection worked out by the process posted earlier, but was met with no defence tools

so, the martyr way works and is a usefull bit of knowledge for beating those rbc's

oh, just in case,

the commander who kindly gave his time for this process wasn't a strong one

so no cheating with a strong commander was involved
